wondering if others have this symptom!
I'm 26 years old and just had my third child a year ago. I asked my doctor about BC and she told me the best option for me was to get the Mirena IUD. Well I decided to go and get it and Oct. 3rd will be a year. Since then I have been bleeding 3 weeks out of a month. I will start bleeding on one day stop 9 hour later then start back again 4 or 5 hour later and this cycle keeps going. Sometimes its black to brown and other times its deep red. I go through 30 tampons and about 45 pads in a month. I told my doc about this and they tell me that it is normal and that I'm just one of the unlucky ones. But that much bleeding.? I have had major headaches, very sore back pains, I snap at the littlest things, my hair is falling out more now than it ever has, I get sharp pains that make me feel like my insides are falling out, I'm always hungrey. If I could have some advice on what I should do I would be greatful.

If this is something that has occured since you had your IUD inserted, the logical solution would be to remove it. Once it's removed, see if the symptoms dissipate or go away entirely. If you cannot take out the IUD, you may ask your doctor if taking birth control pills will ease your symptoms, which often it may. (I know it entirely defeats the purpose of having an IUD to take the pill but it is what it is)
Many women like to have birth control that will give them no periods or light periods every month, but a woman's body is not built that way. Once you begin to hormonally alter how your body is to react you are susceptible to cysts, irregular periods, weight gain or bloating. This is your body's way redirecting its natural course of action.
I myself had a tubal ligation after having my second child, and in turn my body wants to enter early menopause. I have irregular periods, hair loss and weight gain. It absolutely stinks and I completely sympathsize with what you are going through.
