My granddaughter{7 Moths old} was just found to have the H1N1 Virus~We are all watching her and praying!
hey what no i am so sorry i will pray for her to.
Hope she gets better!
I just found out that what my girls have just might be the H1N1 virus or swine flu. Since they arn't testing anyone around here they just are saying that if they have a fevor over 100.5 with a cough then it's the swine flu. My seven year old has been sick since last thursday and my three year old has been sick since saturday. First they started to complain of a head ach and sore throat. They both got a fevor. We just got back from the doctors and they said we just have to wait it out now, let the virus run it's course. I'm keeping my seven year old out of school till monday.
What makes me a little upset is that the school knew that there were cases in my daughters class (4) and they never told anyone so we never had a warning. At the beginning of all this I said that if that flu came to my daughters school I would take her out FOR SURE. But I never got the chance. She got sick and we didn't even know it was going around yet. The only reason I knew it was going around in her class was because I was talking to friend (who is an hour away) and she told me "so I heard there was a confirmed case in your school" I freaked out and called the doctor because I didn't know what to do. Well I'm hoping they are on the track to getting better. My seven year old could go back to school 48 hours after she has no fevor but I'm keeping her home the whole week because I guess she could still be contagious even after she has no fevor. We'll see how the weekend goes though.
A friend of mine got it from someone at work whose child went to school and apparantly recieved it there. She still went to work and got the whole office sick and brought it home to her little one and husband. If your child has any kind of flu you should always keep your kids away from infecting other children.
It's people like your friend who are making this illness a pandemic....shame on them!
My sister has a friend who got it, my brother possibly had it (never had it tested) and there are many others I'm sure who I haven't even heard about yet.
One of the things about the H1N1 virus is that it's not like the seasonal flu-the incubation period is longer. Even if you feel better, you can still be contagious.
People don't think about how, going back to work or sending their child back to school before they're not contagious, they could possibly be putting a high risk person (who are everywhere) at fatal risk. They could be the source of why that person either gets hospitalized or dies.
I wish people considered stranger's health the way they would consider it for their own families. It's a scary time.
I AGREE 100%! My daughter is in soccer and her coach mentioned his daughter had the swine flu and two days later he allowed her to play Saturday's game. I DIDNT take my daughter! I have a 2 month old and cant imagine my children getting that virus..Its scary for sure!
Well I think it's like any other sickness if it is contageous be polite enough to NOT share it with someone else. It is the passing it from person to person that is the problem and in all honesty just like any other flu it makes you feel aweful.
