Question
Tailbone pain so long after a c-section
I delivered my second child via c-section almost nine months ago. For the last four days I have been experiencing really bad pain in my coccyx bone. I had some minor pain for a few days three to four months after my first c-section. I am wondering if there is anything that can be done to ease the pain. My OBGYN has directed me to GP for an exam.

I've had the same kind of tailbone pain and my C-Section was 14 months ago. My sister had a natural child birth and experiences the same thing. I did some physical therapy a while back that seemed to help. (Side note: My OB wrote me the prescription for physical therapy, so my insurance covered it) I have a feeling that stronger lower abdominal and back muscles are what helped ease the pain of my tailbone. I haven't been doing those exercises lately so the pain has been coming back. Also, I realized that some of the positions that I was nursing my baby on the couch seemed to irritate my tailbone.
I'm no expert, but I would look into a place that does pre and post natal physical therapy. I'm not sure where you live, but if you are in the South Bay, I can recommend the place I went to. You can bring your baby with you and they have people to help watch them. Hope you feel better soon!
I saw my GP last week and she sent me for an x-ray - the x-ray confirmed a slight fracture of the tail bone. My OBGYN feels it is unrelated to child birth however I have not had any other type of trauma in that region. I would remember that! My GP recommended taking ibruprofen.
