Question
Still Leaking
I weaned Will from BF and the last time we fed was Sunday, Feb. 11. My boobs are still leaking occasionally and I"m wondering if this is normal or anyone else experienced this? I always thought they were supposed to dry up within a couple of days. It's not a lot and I don't have to ware pads or anything, but I can definitely still get milk out if I wanted to and there will just be little drips a couple times a day. If anyone knows if this is normal or not please let me know. Thanks!!

It's normal. It happened to me also. I still had milk for almost 2 months after I stopped BF. My doctor even said it was normal. So you are OK.

Sorry your post got kind of hi-jacked here, Jess. Just wanted to see if you are still having problems with leaking. I can't say I remember that lasting for very long - but then again I wore BF bras for A WHILE after I was done breastfeeding and they had so much padding I don't think I would notice if I was leaking! LOL! Sometimes if you are around Will or other babies, it will start the production as well - even if you haven't BF in a while.
I stopped breastfeeding just over a year ago, and I still occasionally get some drips.
I leaked for about 3 months, but I was told that you can leak for 6 months to a year.

I was just about to ask the same question. I stopped BF back in Feb also and was starting to get concerned.

Try really decreasing any stimulation to your breast for the next month. Turn your back to the shower, wear well fitting or tight bras, don't keep testing for drops of milk, limit "any" breast handling. Sage is one herb that can decrease milk supplies, my brain is foggy on the others.
Yep, it's completely normal. I could still hand express breastmilk for about 2 years after I weaned my son. My daughter self weaned and I have nothing. Which ismore typical with child-led weaning.
