Question
night time potty training
My daughter is fully potty trained, except for at night. She still has to wear a diaper and most morning it is wet but then there are those few times that she did not pee at night. She goes to bed at 10 but at around 8:30 or 9:00 we dont let her have anymore liquids, except for maybe a sip of something if she asks for it. I really really want her to learn to get up and go to the potty, we told her she'd get a prize if she can do it but it hasnt happened yet. Does anyone have any advice for me?!?! Please and Thank you.

Hi Priscilla. My 3 year old son was having a hard time making it through the night without needing to use the potty. When he got up to go to the bathroom he would wake the whole house up in the process (banging doors, coming to chat, flushing toilet, etc.). He was also understandably afraid of the dark, quiet house. To solve the problem, I re-introduced his little plastic potty. I set this potty right next to his bed so that he could quickly find it in the middle of the night, do his business quietly, and get back to sleep with minimal disturbances. It has worked great for us, though I know the thought of urine sitting in a pot next to the bed is a little strange. Anything for a good night's sleep I say! Good luck.
