napping problems

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

My 14 month old son has napped only in his swing (he has never slept in his crib, and at night sleeps with us). He is almost too big for his swing now, and the time we have been dreading is almost here...any ideas as to where he can nap? Again, he has never slept in his crib. We are not fans of CIO, so any ideas other than this would be great. I guess he will have to sleep in his crib for naps at some point, but how do I make the transition? Thanks for any ideas you may have.

A suggestion would be to put him in the crib at nap time, if he cries, pick him up to comfort him, as soon as he is comforted, put him in the crib again. Do this over and over until he is asleep. Do it for three days and after that he should be fine. I read this in the "Baby Whisperer". Good Luck!

put him in his bed, my twins slept with us until they was six months. I had to make a decision to put them in their bed. I will hurt for a short time to hear him cry but he will eventualy learn to self soothe himself to sleep. Again put him in his bed, for your sanity and marriage sake.
