Question
Moving to Australia
Hi. We are not currently living in Australia but it looks like we will be moving to Melbourne this summer. I have 3 boys (8, 5, & 3). I am more than a little scared about this move (it is work related). I have no idea about schools, doctors, dentists, etc... If anyone has some info for me (or just a little reassurance!) it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi. Melbourne is a great city, very metropolitan. Schools should be great and if you are moving with 'permanent residency' status, then you and your family can apply for Medicare (national medical public system). It is a no cost system to you and your family as a member. However, if this is not the case, then you should look into health insurance to cover you. Depending on how long you plan on being here (if work related - they should arrange all this for you). I married an Aussie 15 years ago and have lived in Sydney and the Gold Coast, and have a wonderful life and experience here! What type of work are you coming here for? Ask any questions you like, I'll try to answer them for you! Good luck.
