Question

More children?

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

My daughter is currently 11 months old and I want more children later on. My husband and I agreed on just having two ... but you never know. Smiley My question is, what do you think is the best age to start planning on having another child? Should I wait until my daughter is two, three or four? What has been your best experiences?

This is a hard question to answer, because everyone is different.  Personally, I kept a few years between my kids...they are 13, 9 and 5.  I always wanted to have all my children before I turned 30 because my own parents were already in their upper 40's early 50's when I was born.  So by the time I was in my teens my parents were already elderly and thought to be my grandparents.  That was really tough for me.  They couldn't do anything with me like my friends did with their parents.

I was also a teen mom and wife when I had my oldest...once I got my divorce, I had already hooked up with another guy, who is now my husband, and had my middle son.  Both completely unexpected pregnancies.  With my 3rd, we had been trying for awhile with no success.  Finally I got pregnant with him when I was 28.

I wish at times I could have had more kids and even done it closer in age, but now that I look back I'm glad it worked out the way it did.  Get one out of diapers before putting another in them.

Good luck with your decision.

My kiddo's are 27 months apart and although it's a lot of work...it's been a great experience. My brother and I were just three years apart and we were very close, and still are! I'm hoping that having them close together will keep them close throughout life! Everyone's different though, so go with your gut and communicate it with your husband. But remember, if you're a stay at home mommy, you will be the one with them...MORNING NOON AND NIGHT! I love it! Good luck!!!
