Question

Is this Mirena Issues?

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

I got my Mirena IUD back in January of 2007. I've been feeling unwell for at least a year now and just thought it was from stress (my mom had terminal cancer). Since Christmas I've had escalating symptoms and am wondering if these could be attributed to the IUD.

- Stomach pain (lower right)
- Sometimes there is burning or cramping below my belly button (uterus area?!)
- Nausea/Motion Sickness feeling
- Lower Back Cramps
- Frequent Bowel Movements (not the Dia. - sorry TMI!)
- Super Tired
- Weight Gain (since Christmas I've gained 15lbs.... since I've had my son in Nov 06 it's been about 50lbs - I eat less than I ever have too!)

I have a checkup coming up with my ObGyn, and my family doctor hasn't seem concerned about it being the Mirena.

Anyone else have similar symptoms from it?

I had all those symtoms too! Along with crazy weight gain. The Mirena may work for some but it was not good for me. I got mine in Sept 2006 and had it removed on April 15 2009. I am starting to feel a lot better. I can tell you that the convinece was not work the symptoms. If you plan on getting Mirena, I would strongly advise you to research it thourghly. Find out what others have said and read the infomation on Mirena's website for both the doctor and the paitent. Mirena's website is now asking you to register your Mirena. There is also a link that will redirect you to the FDA's website asking you to report any and all syptoms. Sounds like trouble if you ask me.
