IUD

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

I have had my MIrena Iud in since march of 2004 and I only have six months left until it needs to come out. I loved it at first, but from the beginning I could not feel the string and have not had a period since. I am having a little spotting lately and some cramps. The doctor says that I could be spotting because it is getting near the end of its time. I have experienced a lot of the same side effects that a lot of the people on this site have experienced such as headaches, blotting, vision problems weight gain and inability to lose weight I also have been having really bad heart burn. I am considering having it removed sooner but am a little worried about the process. I don't think that they will be able to find the string and will have to have an ultra sound. Has anyone experienced any of these things let me know please. I also feel like I am pregnant sometimes and am very irritable, have no sex drive either. Does anyone have any suggestions on a different form of birth control I am afraid of getting pregnant after I have it removed. Hope to hear from someone.

Wow! Everything you have experienced in the side effects is exactly what i am going through. I have had my IUD for going on three and half years and always wondered if i there was something wrong with me. No one i ever talked to had anything bad to say about this particular IUD. Except for one lady saying that i might not be able to become pregnant after it is removed. It freaked me the hell out my doctor never said anything about these things. Thanks for your post i don't feel so abnormal anymore!
