I chose to toliet train my kids during the summer. When I thought it was time, I would let them wear underwear, pull up only at night. accidents do happen, but it didnt last long, and I had hard wood floors, my boys also loved to go outside, they still do,as long as it is in the fenced backyard. I also drained the water in my toliet, used finger nail polish and drew a target, let it dry and then filled up the toilet, the boys loved aiming at the bullseye in the bottom of the toliet, my daughter would sit on her toliet everytiime I sat on mine, but during the day, they wore underwear that they got to pick out themselves. It worked for me,just a couple of ideas.

when i thought my daughter was ready to be potty trained i got rid of her diapers all together. I also started a sticker chart that i hung in the bathroom and bought some really neat dora and disney princess stickers. She loved picking out a sticker and putting it on her chart. I also bought her some kids soap that had spongebob on the container and she liked playing in the water while washing her hands after going to the bathroom. I also tried to get her to go at least every hour and didnt go anywhere for that first week so she could get use to letting me know when she had to go. We had a few accidents but eventually (about three weeks) she had it down. Getting her to go number 2 on the potty was the hardest part. I had to throw away quite a few pairs of undies! My youngest is almost two so im about to start the process all over again. Its all about making it fun and positive reinforcement!

Yes, I remember those days and I have a one year old now, that I am looking forward to potty training(diapers are soooooo expensive). From my experience, it really depends on if your child is a boy or girl. I have 2 boys and 2 girls. My oldest is a boy and potty training for him was ok, my second was a girl and it was kind of hard for her, my third was a girl and it was a breeze for her and my baby is a boy. I think the 'bull's eye' suggestion is so cool and I've never heard of it, will definitely try with my baby boy. But to potty train my older 3, I used positive rewards when they went to the potty or prompted me that they wanted to go, such as a piece of fruit or I would bring their favorite toy to the potty with them. My oldest son was terrified of the potty once he had his first poop(the reason is too gross the explain here), so I had to give him a little more time and positive reinforcement for him to come along. Be patient, some kids take longer to get the concept than others. Most experts state that boys sometimes take longer to become potty trained than girls, from my experience, this is true. I pray that everything works out fine w/your baby.
