HomeSchooling my Child

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

I am interested in possibly homeschooling my 14 year old son. Does anyone else homeschool their children? Is it difficult to set up with the city/state?

Where are you located?

The school below offers online homeschooling in Wisconsin. I know several of my neighbors that are homeschooling through them.

Let me know how it works out ..

I homeschool my 12 yr old son and it is going VERY well. We use the Switched on Schoolhouse curriculum. This is our second semester to homeschool and I am so pleased.

This program is a national program and may have something in your area..they put the student first. Check them out at: www.lindachristas.org.

I believe that education for children should be concentrated on the needs of the children. I am also interested in the issue of healthcare. I support both and am involved with both.

I believe that we all need to have fun in whatever we do! I am having fun with several projects. I like to combine many things, or I get bored easily. If you want know more let me know!

I currently homeschool my 7yo daughter.  I have been schooling her for 1 1/2 years and LOVE it.  There are usually local homeschooling groups out there.  You can also contact the Homeschool Legal Defense Association, known as HSLDA.  They will give you all the information regarding the rules in your state.  They are a non-profit org. that defends all homeschooling parents if needed through a yearly membership.  The legal council they provide is free.  It's a wonderful comfort knowing that someone is  backing you up.  Hope this helps!

I pulled my kids out of public school when they were in third and fifth grades.  Now they are twelfth and tenth grades.  My son is a firefighter going into his last year of "high school" homeschool.  He's taking college firefighter classes and works part time.  There is so much info available on the internet, I knew nothing about homeschooling when we started.  I have found it very easy to comply with state requirements where we live.  I did, however, face a lot of criticism with the educational department for our school system where we used to live.  They were not homeschool friendly at all.  If I had listened to them I would NOT have homeschooled.  In doing so I would have missed out on six awesome years watching my kids grow and learn.  It can be a very rewarding experience for your entire family, don't let it bother you if you run into negativity.
