Question

hidden penis

Has anyone ever heard of hidden penis? My little guy has had 2 circumcisions and he still looks uncircumcised. We're done with the surgery route. Other than just looking noncircumcised, he functions normally down there. Any ideas?

my little cousin has it just make sure you get him used to pulling the skin back and cleaning it because it produces a bad smell if you don't also try not to put any dipper ointment around it but it's nothing to worry about

I have a 8 month old and I thought his circumcision wasnt done properly either but I was told by my new pediatrician that as of the past 4 or so years doctors have been circumcising different from what they use to. She said they like to leave a little extra skin now...reason why, OK you know alot of grown mens penis' tend to curve to the left or to the right? The reason why it does that is because they had too much skin taken off when they were circumcised which makes the skin to tight and pull to one side. Leaving etra skin will prevent that, not all doctors are doing it like that but she noticed that most are. So when you boy is older it's not like he will look different from other guys because that is how most of them when look.
Now, that's what I was told, hopefully this will make you feel a little better about the situation. Smiley

I know this was a LONG time ago when you posted this....My son had hidden Penis. When he was born the Pedi didn't want to cirumcise him be cause he didn't have small enough tools and he knew if he circumcised him....it may not stay. My son was a chubby baby..not when he was born, but started gaining weight at 3 months. I went to a urologist and he said that we would need to do a reconstructive surgery to correct this and then we could do the circ. We were told to wait a year though to see if things would change and let him lose weight...we went back when he was 18mths and he still had hidden penis even after he thinned out everywhere else. Today is his 3rd day after his surgery. He is recovering well and I am thankful we did it. I was glad that my Pedi didnt keep telling me he would grow out of it... and that he referred me to an awesome urologist...who knows if he would grow out of it and it looks unlikely in most cases. Now he looks normal and he wont be teased when he gets older. This is a recognized condition and most insurances will pay for it.
