It depends on what kind of routine you want him on. Is he in daycare or home full time. You want his routine to be consistant, eating, sleeping, & waking at about the same times each day. My youngest daughter (now 3.5) was on a routine from about 4-5 months and it's been adjusted as she's grows into defferent stages. She was breastfed so the hardest was longer night sleeping. She stopped nursing to feed very early so I strickly pumped and put my milk in bottles for 15 months. By 10 months she was sleeping 10-12 hours a night, two 2 hours naps during the day, bottle every 4 hours, solids in between bottles. I always made sure to be home during nap times so she could sleep in her crib. I had to do the "cry it out" thing at 5 months to get her to sleep on her own. It only took 3 nights and by the 3rd night she only cried for about 4 minutes. Just be consistant with him and he will become consistant for you. If he is in daycare, try to get them to keep to the same routine you do at home. I hope this helps, let me know if you meed any further detail...HANG IN THERE!!
