False positives in pregnancy tests???? :-(
Hello all.. I would like to know if this situation has happened to somebody: My last period was sept 6, (I am not regular), however, after my characteristic secretion of ovulation, I was expecting the period about 2 weeks ago, I took 1 first response test and it came faint but positive, I went to the doctor's office, and their urine and blood tests came out negative, I was devastated, however, 1 week after I decided to take another good brand and I selected clear blue digital... the next morning came out with a big PREGNANT, so, no fantasy... I can still read it, I went again to the clinic, and they performed only the urine: Negative... why I am so unlucky of having two false positives? My period hasnt come yet, but I have any symptom at all of pregnancy... can somebody share what you think... thanks

Poking around on the Internet I found out some interesting things about False Positives. Many of them are caused by not following the package directions exactly. They say if you let it sit too long, it can read positive when it's not.
The other idea is what they call a chemical pregnancy - sadly, this is actually an early miscarriage that is seen as a pregnancy because these tests are so sensitive. Seems odd, though, if that were the case with you, that you'd have a SECOND false positive after the doctor ran the test.
I'm thinking something about the environment in your house or the way your testing is causing this.
Thanks for your reply, but the false positivo, came out immediately the urine touched the line, and for the digital test, I did not see to any other place until I got the result, and they were not difficult at all to use. And, in the case I have a chemical pregnancy, when should I expect the period? no idea.. :o( the problem is that I do have the appointment on Nov 10th, in here is very difficult to find an appointment with the doctor, and I am still expecting the appointment with the gyn since 3 month ago.. :o(

I can certainly say that this worries me given that I've taken three and gotten all of them faint lines, but still very much positive. I have the pregnancy "symptoms", though. I haven't been to the doctor yet.
Try calling the help line for the pregnancy test that you used. Maybe something went wrong?

Good luck to you too... at least you have pregnancy symptoms, I dont have any.. which make me think I am not pregnant at all... too weird!
