Escaping the crib at 15 months!
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do with my son who continues to find ways out of his crib. We have no bumpers in the crib and it is on the lowest setting and he has still managed to get out. I was curious how he did it so I thought I would watch and spot him. He stuck his feet in between the rails then flung his foot over then flipped out onto his bottom, yikes!

Maybe you should put bumpers in the crib.

PermalinkMove him from a crib to a toddler bed before he ends up falling and hurting himself badly. If you can't afford the toddler bed right away, put his crib mattress right on the floor. But I'd get him out of the crib. A concussion/skull fracture in a toddler is not fun, it's very scary and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Permalinkmy twins, who are about to turn 2, started climbing out of their cribs at 15 months too! We bought them toddler beds, which was good b/c we were expecting another baby. They LOVED them . I just put baby gates up at their door & would make them cry for a little while. They learned very quick that that was their bed and when they got tired of crying they would go lay down on them, Now they will go get in their beds when they get tired (sometimes-ha). we can shut the door now & they stay in their beds all night. Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the helpful suggestions! I think Logan would really like a toddler bed but we have an older house so his door doesn't close all the way and I didn't want to give him free reign of the house so the baby gate would be a wonderful alternative. It seems so simple but I hadn't thought of it so thanks again!
