I have a three and a half year old son and definetly not wanting anymore anytime soon, so i got on Mirena to prevent pregnancy and because it had a "low" dose of hormones. I've been on that since march and i've had terrible side effects from it. Depression, anxiety, nervousness, acne, oily skin and hair, weight gain, fatigue, backaches, cramps, periods irregular 1 day to 7 days. Sometimes it was heavy, sometimes it was just spotting. I always felt like i was going to start. Water retention, insomnia, painful intercourse, no sex drive, mood swings, felt like i was leaking bad as that sounds... etc.. etc... so i had my doctor remove it. It was painful when it was first inserted and it was painful getting it removed. So my question is, what the the most common side effects from the copper IUD or any other IUD. Are they all the same? Has anyone had a good expirence with any of them? I need to get on another birth control soon so i don't end up getting pregnant again but im horrible with the pill. Every other kind i've tried has screwed me up as well... HELP! :)
