BABYS ROLLING ON HER FACE TO SLEEP IN CRIB

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

My baby started rolling over on her belly in her crib and she is sleeping face down. I didn't leave her long because i became worried she wouldn't be able to breath. She continued to roll throughout the night again on her belly and face to the crib. I am very nervous, has anyone experienced this as well? and do you have any advice? Shes almost 6 months old.

I have heard of this happening a lot! I think they are usually fine ( I know my parents put me to sleep on my stomach from the day I was born - that's the way they all used to do it). Research has shown now that babies do better on their backs and there are less instances of SIDS.

By 6 months, she may be able turn her head and sleep fine on her tummy - or she might be able to roll over onto her back on her own. I know our pediatrician recommends tummy time every day so that the upper body strength can be gained and babies can practice rolling over.

I also saw this question with lots of helpful answers: http://www.mothersclick.com/qa/baby-keeps-rolling-over-onto-stomach-when...

Good luck!!
