baby sign language classes
Does anyone know where I can attend baby sign language classes in the NJ area, specifically closer to the Hoboken area? I know there are some classes in NYC but I don't want to go into Manhattan with my kid.
I can't seem to be consistent using the books and video tapes I've bought. My precious one doesn't want to sit still for anything. How do I go about taking a class where I can physically ask someone about it?

You can look on the site www.weehands.com for classes in your area. Or ask me questions! Make a list of your little guys favourite things, say 5-6 thing and a list of activities you do each and every day, another 5-6 words. Sign these words frequently throughout the day before during and after their activities. Start there and keep in touch!

I am in MN and have attended classes provided by the local Y and our school district. The classes themselve didn't provide much value they were really a selling point for aids to teach infant sign language and a cheerleading session on why you should do it. A mother of a deaf daughter in my son's daycare suggested DVDs from SigningTimes.com and I have to admit they were better vocabulary builders than most other Videos that I have purchased. Check their site I would personally recommend their DVDs Every Day Signs and Play Time Signs.
I don't know where you can attend classes, but have you ever tried the Baby Einstein My First Signs DVD...We use it with our son and he is picking up on some of the signs they teach and he has only got to watch it a couple of times...AND it also has taught him how to say a few new words...I bought it because I have a friend who is deaf and i thought it would be nice if my son knew a few signs too!!---I hope this helps Good Luck
