6 month old sleep problerms

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

My 6 month old had always been a tummy sleeper. For some reason she just sleeps better that way. For the past couple of weeks whenever I put her in her crib to go to sleep she will cry and eventually roll onto her back and spit her pacifier out. I end up going into her room a bunch of times to roll her back on her tummy and put her pacifier back in her mouth. I have tried to leave her alone and hope that she will just fall asleep on her back, but she will not do it. She just cries and screams. The problem is she can roll onto her back but can't roll back on to her stomach. I'm not sure what to do. I want to start sleep training her but it is so hard with the rolling over.

Oh please let (encourage) your baby to sleep on her back. Are you familiar with SIDS? The SIDS organization begs moms to put baby to sleep on her back, as tummy sleeping is a frequent cause of SIDS death. Their campaign is called "Back to Sleep". for more info go to SIDS.org

Sparrow3:
My children started out sleeping on their tummies but at six months they started rolling over to sleep on their backs. I agree with cklein, let her sleep on her back.
