I started my second baby on solids when she was 6 months old and for the life of me I could not remember the schedule I had with my first!

So, we started with just adding some cereal in the morning after her regular feeding. Then after she got used to it, I added vegetables during the day and then at night. At 10 months, she has milk (still breast feeding) in the morning, veggies and other food for lunch with more milk and then dinner of veggies and some fruit followed by another feeding before bedtime. It seems to work out fine for her.

You'll probably find what works best for your baby as well, depending on how big an eater he is, you can adjust accordingly.

Hope that helps!

I started feeding my daughter cereal around 4 1/2 mos. and baby foods around 5 1/2 mos. I started my son a little bit earlier because he was much bigger and milk alone wasn't satisfiying him anymore.
I started out with rice cereal, mixed with some breastmilk. I did that at least one meal a day, usually in the evening so they would sleep better through the night. Sometimes I would feed it to them at lunch time and then put a little bit of the dried cereal in a bottle with breastmilk near bedtime.
When they started on baby food, I still kept with the cereal routine, but I started by adding 1 meal a day with baby food. Like lunch or dinner I would feed them a small jar of babyfood. I did that for about a month, then I started adding in another meal. So by the time they were a year old, they were eating 3 meals a day.
You'll get into a routine on your own too. Your baby will let you know when they're hungry and need more.
Hope this helps! Smiley

My son ate rice cereal very early on because he was starving! Sometimes this is not recommended due to food allergies in the future. But, when I started ( prob at about 4 weeks!!!) I gave him 1-2 tbsp in formula in a wide nipple bottle 6 oz in the am and then before bed. Formula regular times in between. This helped him sleep longer. His weight is fine a bit thin if anything. He is 9 months old now and has not been sick a day in his life and now he eats just about everything we do. Good luck. try am and pm to start. Just be aware of bowel movements because sometimes the iron in the cereal along with formula can bind you baby up if they get to much.

My 3 month old daughter has been getting about a 1/2 tbsp of rice cereal in her bottles for the past 4 weeks because of acid reflux - our doctor recommended adding it to weigh down her formula and hopefully get it to stay down. She gets 4-5 oz with 1/2 tbsp rice every 4 hrs during the day and 6 oz with a full tbsp at bedtime. She has been sleeping 6-8 hrs at night for the past couple of weeks. Although, I have read that you shouldn't start with rice cereal too early.
