So...how is everyone else sleeping?
I haven't had a decent night's sleep in several nights. Unfortunately, when I went on a trip to see my mom in Oregon, I ended up letting my daughter sleep in the bed with me more than I should have. My husband wasn't with us, and we slept in a guest room that has a daybed with a trundle, so it was TOO easy to just let her crawl up from the trundle and sleep with me! The first couple of nights of doing that, we just snuggled and were cozy and slept so well, but by the third night, she was restless and kept me awake. Now she is back to waking multiple times at night. I know it's driving my MIL crazy (we're staying at her house right now) and she keeps giving me these smug looks like, "I told you not to let her sleep with you." Grr. Oh well. She'll get back to doing long stretches again soon. We just have to keep working on it. Last night she did a 5-hour stretch followed by a 3-hour stretch, so I take that as a good sign that we're getting back on track.
Hope everyone else is getting all the sleep they need!

PermalinkJust goes to show you why it is bad, bad, bad to be inconsistent.
Unfortunately, 3 years worth of bad habits don't change overnight...for the child or the parents!

Hopefully your daughter will get back into the swing of things soon. Has she settled in from the move?
An update on my 2yo, she seems to be sleeping a little later now. The big news is that today was the first day she figured out how to get herself out of bed and come into our room - luckily it was at 8am!

PermalinkThanks yogamom. It's our own fault of course.
I think she's settled from the move, although she's still acting a little bit more clingy than usual. That could be her age too, or it could be because she's not used to the style of discipline my MIL takes it upon herself to dispense (that is a WHOLE other story that I won't get into now...)
Geez, your 2yo sounds patient. We put up a gate before we even decided to let my daughter sleep in a bed. We knew she'd be up looking for us the minute she woke up. Sure enough, she came right to the gate, and as soon as we'd open, she'd try to walk past us right to our room! She's a busy bee and just can't be deterred. LOL. Glad your daughter is sleeping later, that must be nice for you.
Oh yes, and we have had a couple of better nights lately. I *think* we're getting there. I'll keep the updates coming!
