late roller?
I know they say every baby is different... but... my 5 month old hardly rolls. She has gone from her belly to her back a handful of times... but usually just gets upset on her belly and cries with her head on the ground
She will turn to her side occasionally on her back... I just feel like she should be doing more... how did you encourage your kids to get moving?!

I wouldn't be too worried! When my son was 5 months, he really only rolled from his back to his tummy and not the other way. My husband and I would just play with him on the ground by helping him to roll one way or the other. When he was on his tummy we would try and get him to focus on a toy and bring it behind him hoping that would encourage him to roll over. After all of our work he just all of a sudden at about 6 months started to roll. Now at 6 1/2 months he rolls across the room! He figured out what worked and he does it with a smile on his face.
Every baby is different, don't be too hard on yourself, lots of play time and keeping things fun! She may not be strong enough yet.

PermalinkI agree, I wouldn't worry about it just yet. The fact that she CAN roll one way says he's mobile, and they learn one way before the other. She's probably just crying because she WANTS to roll the other way...a good sign. Just give her plenty of tummy time and let nature do the rest. At her next well-baby checkup, you could just ask the doctor what he/she thinks. They can often be very reassuring about these things, and might let you know when you should worry...if ever. He/she will probably tell you your baby is developing just fine.
