How much should I pay a 14yr old babysitter to babysit my 4yr old at her parents house during the day starting around 10 am?

I would personally pay her about $3.50- $5.00 an hour depending. If you think about it she is too young to go out and get a job for min. wage. Also she is at her parents house (in her own home) and if her parents are home they are going to help her out. Other things to consider are how much you can afford for the day, I was once paid $30 a day to babysit for the summer and sometimes I'd stay 9 or so hours (little over $3/hr) but I have also been paid $5/ hr before. I know a sitter that is in college and she just takes whatever the parents can afford to give her, if she knows the parents can only afford $3.50/hr for three kids then thats what she takes. I'm sure at 14 she is thankful for any money she earns that is hers.
