I think it is great that your daughter is so friendly. It is a sign of her personality to come. My oldest is the same way, he knows no stranger. I def. keep my eye on him, but he does brighten a lot of people's day with his smile and hello. Trust me, it is must better that she be outgoing and friendly than attached to your hip like my youngest. He is not interested in meeting or talking to anyone outside of his mommy.
Good luck. I am sure she'll be fine.

PermalinkI would love for my daughter to take some of yours outgoingness. My youngest (3) is EXTREMELY shy. It takes her a good hour to warm up to anyone. Even people she see's regularly. This can be just as embarrassing. My oldest step-daughter was like yours, she is now 15 and a little more reserved in her personal encounters with strangers. But as a child she was the same way and it was embarrassing too. Just keep reasuring her that it's great to be friendly but some people don't like others invaiding their personal space. We had to keep teaching our oldest that she should ask people if it was ok to give them a handshake or hug. It will take time but she will be more selective as she gets older.
Smile, it increases your face value!

PermalinkJust the other day me and my kids went with grandma to get a hair cut and there was another little girl there that was around the same age as my daughter. *2 1/2* They had been coloring together while waiting and before we left my daughter hugged the little girl and gave her a kiss on the cheek. It was the cutest and funniest thing ever expecially the look on the other little girls face. It was a look of *who are you and why did you just do that* everyone thought it was precious. Anyways, I just wanted to share that story and also tell you that yea I think its better that our kids are firendly instead of mean...right? You never know, that smile or hello from your daughter could really brighten someones day.

PermalinkMY DAUGTHER IS ALSO THE SAME WAY, IT IS DISTURBING THAT SHE WILL JUMP INTO ANYONES ARMS AT THE DROP OF A HAT. I TOOK HER TO A BIG PARTY WHERE SHE HUGGED AND KISSED EVERYONE, MOST PEOPLE LOVED HER, BUT SOME DEFINITLEY THOUGHT IT TO BE UNUSUAL BEHAVIOUR. SHE HAS BEEN THIS WAY SINCE SHE WAS THREE, AT THE TIME I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT, BUT NOW SHE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THAT EVERBODY IS NOT GOOD AND I HAVE TALKED TO HER ABOUT THIS REPEADLY. MY SISTER IS A TEACHER OF 32 YEARS, AND WITNESSED THIS BEHAVIOUR FIRST HAND, SHE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT NORMAL FOR A SIX YEAR OLD TO HAVE NO SENSE OF CAUTION, AND THAT THIS COULD BE THE SIGN OF ANOTHER SERIOUS PROBLEM. ANYWAY ANY FEEDBACK WOULD HELP
