overnight feedings
I have a 8 mo old daughter. She used to sleep through the night after she finsihed her bout of colic/ reflux at 3.5 mo. She then went right into teething and has had multiple issues with other things this whole winter. She has not slept through the night since NOV> I try to give a late night feeding with oatmeal ect. but it does not work. Can anyone offer advice?
I am new..my name is Lisa from NY! Hi all.

Hi Lisa,
At 8 months she should have no trouble making through the night. Teething and sickness will disrupt a routine and it will take a few days to get them back on schedule. The longer you give into her the longer it will take to break the middle of the night waking. Try the cry it out thing...it hurts us Mom's more then it hurts them but the longer you wait the harder it will be. Reassure her that she is OK, then lay her back down. After a few days she will learn to soothe herself if she wakes and hopefully not wake at all. Believe me, hearing her cry will hurt you more then it will her. My daughter is 3 and I did the cry it out thing at 4 months and thought I was done with it until she started cutting teeth and getting ear infections with every tooth. Evertime she got something that disrupted her sleep I would wait until she was better then had to go throughthe crying it out all over again for a few days . Stressful and heartbreaking as is was I knew I would never get a full nights sleep again if I didn't suffer for a few days. With the exceptions of illness my daughter has been sleeping 10-12 hours a night since 4 months. Best of luck to you.
Smile, it increases your face value!
