Hello from Brooklyn
Hello Ladies,
I am from the NYC area. I have a 20 month old who I am trying to wean and he is being impossible and whiney and everything..he whines for nye nye (milk lol in a bottle) and shoves the sippy/straw cup. Any advice? or do I have to wait it out?

I think it takes some patience. Although I haven't had the exact same experiece as you have.
When my daughter tunred 1, I cut off the bottle cold turkey! She did really well with the sippy cup and straw cups. My only experience with what you are mentioning was when I bought her a new sippy cup for her milk. For a day and a half she wouldn't drink any milk (I fought hard not to give in and give her back the old cup - which was kind of gross after 6 months of all that milk!)
She finally took a sip and now loves her "new cup" for milk. They do tend to get set on things, but at this age, they are also still flexible. So, don't give up, he'll get the hang of it

PermalinkI suggest taking your child shopping and letting him pick out a cup that catches his or her eye. I watch a 20 month old who loves spider man and he is particularly fond of his spidey cup. good luck
