2 year molar relief

My little boy is getting his 2 year molars in, and he's inconsolable at times. The baby Orajel that worked like a charm when he was teething before just isn't cutting it now. It seems to help a little, but it's like taking tylenol for a migraine. Speaking of Tylenol, we're also giving him (on a nurse's suggestion) Infant Tylenol to help with the pain. Even so, he's obviously in pain a good amount of the day. The whining and screaming is grating on my nerves, but I know he's hurting. Poor baby! Does anybody have any suggestions to ease his pain?

I have seen a couple of studies lately on the internet that suggest that infant motrin is more effective with pain that tylenol.  Many people believe that you should use tylenol for a fever and motrin/ibuprofen for pain.  It can't hurt.

For my son we found that Hylands teething tablets work better than tylenol or motrin. We are getting the 2 yr molars in right now, but we've been using the teething tablets since he was 9 months, and it works like a charm!

I'm really not a fan of drug treatment for infants i always try and find some other method to help with their pain.
