PermalinkBy now your baby is what?, 5 months, congratulations!
I can tell you that anyone can give you advices, but you only learn from experience and from your own children, they teach you everything, and it really is true, you learn with and from them.

PermalinkI'm working full time and feel like I am missing out on my kids. My oldest will start school in August. Stay at home moms, what is your formula for living on one income?

The secret for me is to learn how to budget, economize, and save whereever you can. Not having to spend on expensive suits and work clothes is saving. Not having to spend money on eating lunch and/ or dinner out is saving. Budget, shop wisely, check the paper for circulars and buy whatever is in season. Shopping sales and using coupons can save you a great deal of money for a family. Cook as much as you can and try not to buy packaged prepared foods. Home cooked is much better for your children anyway. In the beginning, write down all your expenses and keep track of how much goes where and decide where you can cut down and cut out. It takes time and patience, but it's worth it. You have the rest of your life to work, but only these years when they are little.

PermalinkI resigned my career a few months ago to stay home with my children, I remarried and wanted the transition to be as smooth as possible for my little ones. It turned out that the one needing the help was me and not them!!
I admire those moms who've been doing this for a while! I still am trying to manage my time and our budget, I was a manager in a clothing store, I was always shopping, now it feels like if we were broke, I started homeschooling my four year old son and I am loosing my patience, now he doesn't even listen, the usual time-out is getting old for him, he is taking all of my energy and by the end of the night all I want to do is sleep, can't even spend some quality time with my oldest, not to mention the husband who doesn't seem to understand that this is a non-paid full-time job. Advice please!!!!
Blessings,
Paola
