Why don't parents provide daycare reviews?
I have seen reviews for everything - from pizza slices to Hi-Def TV’s to Sushi restaurants – why not daycares? Millions of parents entrust their precious kids to daycares DAILY – who writes reviews for these daycares? Often, daycares are chosen based on location, timings, seat availability, quality of teachers, academic orientation, teaching philosophy, and, most important, the innate parent ‘gut sense’. I have rejected several daycare options that otherwise looked great, but just did not “seem right” for my kids. I have stood outside daycares at common drop-off and pick-up times to ask strangers how their kids were faring. No one, absolutely no one, can provide an unbiased, true picture of the quality of care at a particular daycare other than the parent that drops his or her kids there day-in and day-out... Why don’t parents help other parents by providing unbiased reviews and ratings of the daycares they have chosen? So, when I learnt about this website (www.yourdaycareexperience.com), I logged in and provided reviews of all 4 daycares my kids have been enrolled in. I hope these reviews are useful to another new mom searching for daycare options in the San Francisco BayArea.

Making a Difference One Book at a Time

That is a great question. I'm sure that mothers in that area would like to read about their daycare. Different children benefit from different types of daycares. It is important to view a day in the life of your child's daycare to see what activities they do, how the teacher responds to the children, to see whether they are provided with loving care.

Regarding reviewing daycares...I totally agree.
However, I offer that service through my company.....Parenting First here in Los Angeles. I visit schools, conduct phone interviews, pull records, interview parents, etc.

This is such a great post. I had the very same frustration with not being able to find reviews of daycares, as well as dentists, doctors, and nursing homes. So I started http://www.tinkn.com where we all can rate and review these personal services that touch our lives so intimately.
Thank you for saying something!
