Plum Organics Baby Food Recall

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Plum Organics is recalling it's apple and carrot portable pouch baby food for possible Botulism concerns. While no one has reported any illnesses it is being voluntarily recalled because the carrot and apple pouches had not reached the approved FDA levels for acidity, thus creating a concern for serious illness.

The pouches are sold at Toys-R-Us and Babies-R-Us throughout the U.S. The pouches are the 4.22 oz sizes and have the UPC 890180001221 with the Best by May 21 date.

Jeez, it's so scary how suddenly something will pop up and you could possibly be giving your child that very product.

Thank you for the announcement!!!

A good reason to make your own! We tend to think that something with the organic label is generally safer and more healthful, but we need to understand that any food that has to go through a lot of processing (like baby food) has many chances of being contaminated along the way. Very scary.

I agree-I've been making by daughter's baby food with the Beaba Babycook since she started on foods and I love that thing. It is so easy and worth every penny.
