So far I'm not that pleased with the Mirena. I do not like how it has changed my cycle and it lengthened it greatly! I am trying very hard to get my husband to get a vestictomy.
A woman is like a tea bag, you can not tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water

My cycle started of very long but not that i am in my third year i get my period once every five months or so. Everyone reacts to the IUD differently but it got better for me the more i waited it out.
I have had my Mirena for a year and a half now and I have had my ups and downs with it I like it because I dont have to think about it and it works really well but at first my cycle was on going and now I dont have a cycle that I dont like and I have had three cysts so far one that burst and that hurt soooo bad the others went away on their own but I didnt get it taken out because its easy I keep telling myself next month I will have it taken out I just dont want to go through the changing birthcontrol thing thats how I got pregnant with my daughter that six week period you all know what Im talking about So I guess for now the Mirena will have to stay we just have a love hate relationship
No i wouldn't recommend it. The only thing good about it, is the fact that you barely bleed at all. But it's still irregular. Plus, i never got pregnant! But I had horrible cramps and a full list of side effects that effected my whole body. I had it for 9months then had it removed.

I have had the mirena for about 5 months now. I have started to get headaches all the time and my back is killing me. I just recently went to the doctor because I was having symptoms of pregnancy. I took two pregnancy tests with one result being positive and one boing negative, but I was told that if I was pregnant, I had lost the baby. I have those dizzy spells too, and I cramp all the time like I'm getting another menstrual period. When I do get that, it's not heavy, but it lasts for more than a week. I think I want mines out too. I can't take anything else though. I've tried, and I already have 4 children. All of which are a result from birth control. I probably should just stop being sexually active, but, no!
I had my put in a few months ago. I felt like a bleed forever and it was never gonna stop. I have some what of a regular period just not as heavy. And when I go get my period it's a weird color almost orangish I know gross. I also feel like I have PMS all the time like the littlest thing will just set me off. I just get so angry I never used to be like that. I get dizzy spells a lot too. They don't tell you everything about the IUDs I think. I can see why they put them in free.

i didnt know anything about the side effect until i learned about mothersclick. i dont think i'll be using this thing any longer.
I have never used this. But my sister had it for a couple of months and ended up having a lot of problems. Problems to point that she went to the hospital for bad abdominal pains. She had some ultrasounds done and soon found out that she had a large pus pocket. She had really bad infection and had to have emergency surgery the same day. This product is not for everyone and I don't highly recommended.
One of the worst experiences of my life! I had it in on a Thursday, and am having it removed today, Wednesday. A week of torture. Intense, labor-like cramps, immediate lower back, upper buttock pain, mood swings, tender abdomin, irregular bloating (felt like my gut was an over inflated balloon). I understand that this works for some women, my best friend included, but as for my body, it's an evil little contraption. I am very frightened to have it removed as it was quite painful having it inserted....
So, I had it removed, and "AAAHHHHHHH"
I walked out of the Dr.'s office feeling better! And the day got better from there, too! The back pain ended, the sore abdomin, the upper butt pain... all of it, GONE! It didnt hurt coming out, like I so feared it would. Like I wrote before, I know it's great for some, but I have nothing good to say about it for me! I am thrilled to have the evil little contraption out of me! WOO-HOO!!!!
