H1N1 strain to be included in next year's seasonal flu shot

The H1N1 strain that caused so much angst (especially for those who had to wait and wait for the vaccine) this winter will be included in next year's regular seasonal flu vaccine, according to the FDA.

I guess that will make it a whole lot easier to get the vaccine! I am guessing they will have enough by next flu season that all the high-risk folks will be able to get the vaccine long before October. I'm just wondering now if there will still be a separate vaccine available for those who are in the high-risk group for H1N1 but not the regular flu and would rather not get both? I guess we'll find out in the coming looong months before the next flu season!

Good to hear they're thinking ahead. I was just reading an article about how most people think it's a done deal and so they aren't worried about getting the vaccine and history has shown us that's exactly how these things pop up again.

It's been a long time since this was popular, is it still that big a deal?

Not sure what you mean? Flu season ended in April, but this was posted long before that. And undoubtedly the debate will continue again as the ramp-up begins for this year's season. I for one think it will be MUCH more convenient to only have to get one shot, instead of having to chase down two.
