Motrin Moms: A Baby-Wearing Ad Controversy

Motrin Moms: A Baby-Wearing Ad Controversy

I opened my inbox early this morning to find out that the mommy blogging community had single-handedly forced Johnson and Johnson, a not so small company, to remove a new ad on their Motrin website.

The ad, which focuses on moms who "wear" their babies, was severely criticized on many blogs and eventually the company pulled it from their site (only one day after airing). The company also sent an apology from their marketing spokeswoman, who happens to be a mom, to many of these bloggers.

So, what's the big hoopla? Check out the video here (http://blogs.forbes.com/sciencebizbl...), which can still be found on YouTube. Essentially, the ad could be taken as offensive to some moms who prefer carrying their babies as opposed to pushing them in a stroller.

Moral of the story: it's amazing what power moms have these days, and marketers need to be very careful how they get their message across to the family member who really does most of the shopping!

Were you offended by the baby wearing ad? Enough so to stop buying a major brand of pain relief medication?

America has certainly become a fast food nation. It’s so
easy to eat anything you want, it’s always there. Unlike the people from places
such as Haiti who do not have the alternatives to choose from as to what to
feed their children, but instead must choose which children to feed – we are
considered very fortunate. For that reason that there’s no need for us to do
that to our young ones, food supply is so abundant in our nation. We are lucky
to have food, water, fast payday loans, and other resources
right at our fingertips. While starvation is still a worldwide problem,
Americans are fortunate to have an ample food supply and different options to
choose from. However, we still have food issues of our own. The increased
consumption of fast food has stimulated a great number of childhood
obesity
in America. American families would be better off eating
healthy, nutritious food found at the grocery store. However, not all American
families can actually afford all the wholesale foods at the grocery store. Yet,
the cost of medical expenses that’s a result of a poor nutritious diet will
cost you more money than to spend a little extra on healthy foods. Of course,
it can be tempting to indulge on fast food on a daily basis – it’s fast,
inexpensive food. Especially when your budget is tight and a grocery bill can
seem like a huge expense. But before you decide on it, really think about your
long-term health, as well as the health of your family. If you find yourself
needing a little financial help to cover some healthy food, fast payday
loans
can help cover grocery expenses until your next payday. Click
