MamaHall's blog
i can't do it all...
...but i'll always try. it's just the kind of person i am.
so don't act surprised that i'm attempting this new phenomenon [to me anyway] known as "couponing."

brrrrr. cough, cough. sniff. ah-choo!
the only thing wacky i have to report today is this wicked cold that's apparently going around. everyone i know has had it, or has it, or has gone into hiding so they don't get it.
home for the holidays
Daddy Hall has been on vacation from work for...oh, seven and a half days. that's 180 hours. [who's counting?] and we have 3 full days left to go.
it's not that we can't handle it - we can. fun and games? yes. "yay Daddy's home?" yes. helpful partner? quality family time? yes.
but i'm not going to lie. having him home 24/7 comes with bitter challenges as well.
mom disguised as hero
a little more than a year ago, my Portland heroine* Sarah Gilbert blogged about something that i was thinking. how she did that i'll never know. i was about 10 sleepy months into motherhood in desperate need of a shot of espresso...
Stuck in a rut
ok, so it's no big secret that i'm not a fan of fast food. i've been pretty good about expressing how i feel about it. the grease, the fat, the processed, the sugar water, the fried, the questionable "meat" products. all this and not to mention the age-inappropriate, dirty, germy, danger-ridden playscapes.
Because we love kids...
and because we don't want any child to miss out on the fun of getting a letter from Jolly 'ole Saint Nick...We're accepting Santa Mail orders via e-mail THIS WEEKEND ONLY!
A Mom's Daydream
...you're sitting in a cozy coffeehouse, sipping a nonfat carmel mocha, chatting it up with your mom friends, while your baby bounces happily in her Exersaucer and your toddler builds Lego towers with his new playmates. they're safe, and they're having fun. and if you need to get up to get a refill of your water, or get something out of the diaper bag, there's a volunteer watching them while you step away.
The Language of Moms
it's mom talk. i've got it down, and if you're a mom, you probably do too. i never spoke mom talk until i became a mom. not unlike any other foreign language, i learned mom talk by becoming emerged in the mom culture. after being a mom for just a short while, i spoke mom talk fluently.
Who knew Santa was so crafty
We've all seen letters from Santa. When I was little I got giddy with excitement when I received a piece of mail mid-December postmarked "The North Pole."
Now that I'm, well, grown up, I realize my "letter" was computer-generated and "Santa" was probably a guy trying to make a few bucks on the side during the holidays. (And by "a few bucks" I mean $9.95 each Plus shipping!)
