Many of you might have heard about this upcoming film from Disney. It's not only the first time Disney is returning to traditional two-dimensional hand-drawn animation since abandoning the medium to computer-generated animation in 2002 and a musical along the lines of "Cinderella". It is also the first time a main character in a Disney animated film is African American. Oh, and it's a take on the traditional story of the princess who kisses the frog -- with a twist.
Disney is also promoting the fact that this is a slightly un-traditional princess character, in that she's smart and tough and makes some big decisions on her own. (Personally, I think Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" was a bit of a tough cookie too, although she was still pretty traditional in some ways, like having Sebastian the crab be her chaperone.)
